Monica arrived from RaccoonDoll at the end of April. She is dark mocha, which is a lovely dark brown. I fitted her with new Iplehouse JID hands and FID high heel feet in light brown - and excellent match to RaccoonDoll dark mocha; but unfortunately her delicate wrists got a little scratched during the operation, which is very annoying. I will have to gently sand the scrapes with some fine jeweler's sandpaper.
She is wearing a sweater by KawkanaStyle, and her wig is by SartoriaJ. Her eyes are by Enchanted Doll. I made her bangle - this is very easy to do - just use some jewelry wire from a craft store - thread on small beads and make a loop at both ends. Bend the bangle around the doll's wrist - so much easier than trying to make a catch!
I also got her a Monique wig "Taylor", in "golden glaze". This photo is by Lyanne;
I then felt inspired to unpack a black Iplehouse FID outfit and pop her in it;
The shoes and ankle decoration are by SartoriaJ. Monica is wearing her Iplehouse FID heel feet here - the shoes are not quite a perfect fit so she is not standing by herself but is leaning a little against the backdrop.
I got my order from Etsy store KawkanaStyle, so I got out my RaccoonDoll ladies and my sole FID woman and changed them into autumn gear.
Iplehouse FID Raffine looks lost in an autumn reverie... memories of springtime, perhaps?
Her pretty jumper and stretch denims (actually leggings) are by KawkanaStyle. She just manages to squeeze into a pretty pair of boots by Paul Zhangby (actually for RaccoonDoll, who have smaller feet!)
Laetitia gets stretch denims as well, and some French flair - a striped top and lavender beret scarf made by Lyanne. Lucky Laetitia!
Gene gets a rose top and leggings by KwakanaStyle;
And Smiling Gene gets her first outing!
She got a lovely vibrant orange knit ensemble from Iplehouse, and also new feet from Iplehouse!
The feet & shoes fit together (no toes - does that make her the Pobble Who Has No Toes? :) )
RaccoonDoll girls can 'wear' Iplehouse JID and FID hands, and also high heel FID feet which allows them to wear American Model shoes which would be otherwise too large.
Iplehouse normal skin matches very well with RaccoonDoll normal, Iplehouse real skin with RD sweet mocha, and Iplehouse light brown with RD dark mocha.
Smiling Gene was a tiny bit wobbly on these feet, so got a stand to make sure she didn't fall while I was taking photographs.
Doll meet! A couple of friends came over, and of course some of their dolls came for a visit too!
We always have lots of fun, and it's great to see their dolls.
Wow! Check out the legs on Helen's new HID Lahela!
Her beautiful Doria came too;
Lahela and Doria's clothing is by Iplehouse. Their shoes are by Paul Zhangby (ebay).
Lyanne brought along her FID couple Arvid & Stella - she has painted their faces herself - what a talented lady! I made Stella's sweater - it's a little too small for FID woman and looks better on a 16 inch Ficon fashion doll (it's from a Barbie knitwear book), and Arvid's sweater is by Lyanne's mom I think.
This essentially is a post to evaluate the fit of EID women's clothing on HID women.
In actual fact, their feet are the same size, however medium bust HID woman's body is not the same shape as that of medium bust EID woman. HID woman is taller, not outrageously so, but enough that her upper torso is longer than that of EID woman, affecting the fit of upper clothing. Being of a more "athletic" build, HID woman has smaller breasts and a broader back than EID woman who has a more "lingerie" body with plump breasts and wide hips.
The photo below shows the height difference between the two - well within natural human variation. The black sheath dress is from Iplehouse and the other outfit is custom clothing made by Lyanne for her EID Carina, shown her with my HID Doria. All photos are by Lyanne.
Looking good, ladies!
Now when the outfits are reversed - oh dear - observe how the fit of the top now looks all wrong on Doria - her broader back has made it hard to fasten it at the back, and it is also pulled too high under her breasts due to her height. The top needs more width at the back, and an adjustment to the overlap at the front to look properly fitted. EID pants on the other hand, fit perfectly, and even the length is fine.
Interestingly, Carina also has a problem with the Iplehouse black sheath although it is supposed to fit her - it's too low at the front resulting in multiple "wardrobe malfunctions" even while standing upright.
It actually fits Doria better. The scooped neckline is sexy, but still discrete, and the black sheath emphasises her slimness.
She doesn't fare as well with the EID top; just not a good look...
I hope this post is useful for those contemplating getting an HID lady!
Iplehouse regularly auction off dolls with flaws, or from cancelled orders. The resident face-up artists give them custom face-ups which can be very... "unusual", or just different. Anyway, whoever buys one of these dolls has a "one of a kind" doll!
And here we have another pink Jpopdolls wig! This is in 8/9" size, but a 7/8" would be a better, snugger fit. Pamela has ginger brows, and there are ginger strands in this wig (Kanalong in "Summer Moon").
Those long EID legs!
Well, it was far from summery - completely the opposite in fact, being August this year. I can't remember a winter and spring when we had so much rain! Thank goodness we've finally reverted back to normal Auckland spring weather in November - rain, shine, rain, shine - all in the one day mind you.
My new peach gold Raffine got to model this fabulous new ensemble from Iplehouse;
Lady B. (Carina) also got a new outfit;
And Doria and Crow got in on the act as well;
Well, I did feel a little more summery myself, after that photoshoot!
One of my two extra Dreaming Chloe face-plates came back from Nomyens with her new face-up.
I intended that she look a little bit flirty, and I can safely say that Chloe is all that... and maybe a little bit more?
Her earrings are by LyanneNZ.
She is wearing a pretty BoHo lace dress from Iplehouse.
Again, she has a little help to support her posing with the "invisible" stand from Alice Collections.
What a doll!
I just love the Fairyland Feeple65 sculpt Angela, and have been having lots of fun photographing her since she returned from Angel Toast with her new face-ups.
So far, I have been photographing mostly "night-time" Angelika, but I'll do more photos of "day-time" Angelika once summer rolls around and I feel like doing photos of my girls in pretty summer frocks and sassy bikinis.
Angelika wows and sizzles in new gowns by MonaeGlow. She sure is a beauty...
Here is another MonaeGlow gown in glorious indigo. She is wearing wonderful platform shoes from DollHeart. There is no way she can stand on these on her own, so she is supported by an "invisible" stand from Alice's Collections.
Click here to be taken to the sales page for the stand _
Her pretty earrings and necklace are by LyanneNZ.
Angelika was partnered by Griffin (Soom Ender on Iplehouse SID body). He is wearing clothing by Iplehouse. I posted these photos on the Zone of Zen forum and Griffin got a lot of very nice compliments. Well, he is a handsome boy!
Fairyland's Feeple65 Chloe is so pretty, but my preference is for human sculpts. Then I spotted a human "dreaming" Chloe face-plate on the Den of Angels marketplace, and I couldn't resist buying her.
As it happens, I had just organized to send my two "Angela" face-plates to Angel Toast Aesthetics for new face-ups, so by happy chance I had an "unoccupied" body for Chloe when she arrived.
What a pretty gal!
Her expression is so sweet and serene. For some reason I thought this was her company default face-up.
I don't know why, as she doesn't appear to have a company face-up. The human "dreaming" (with partially opened eyes) Chloe face-plates were issued as a "event" bonus in December 2010. They were all issued blank. I have no idea who did the face-up but it is very pretty.
I decided that she would have a bohemian persona, and popped her in this Iplehouse EID dress to photograph her. I had tried out my Angelika (Feeple65 Angela) in this dress first, but she has such a direct gaze that she looked like she was contemplating putting a hex on someone... whereas gentle Chloe looks like she's about to waft off to a long soak in a tub sprinkled with rose petals and surrounded by scented candles...
The Feeple65 female body has lovely long legs and this dress shows them off to perfection.
Angelika is a gal with attitude, and would never "waft" anywhere...
She needed support for this pose, but sadly a tuxedo-clad escort was nowhere to be found so she had to make do with a stand.
She is wearing another new EID size dress from Iplehouse, and Iplehouse shoes.
I tried the shoes on Lady B (EID Carina) first, but they seemed too tight, and I didn't want to damage them so gave up trying to put them on her. However they fit Angelika perfectly.
I then tried them on the new EID woman's feet from Iplehouse, and can report that they do indeed fit the new feet! No trouble at all, in fact, although I find it impossible to tell whether the new feet are slimmer than the old. Obviously, they must be.
A bit of experimentation established that the new EID feet can easily wear SD10/SD13 size shoes e.g. Elfdoll shoes, but not SD16 shoes. The latter are extremely slender fitting shoes and can be worn by Feeple65 and the new Soom Super Gem females. However, Angelika can not wear all SD16 styles - I think her instep is higher so low-cut SD16 styles are okay but shoes with a high instep or boots are not.
I was so pleased with Bane's new look that I immediately took some photos of him with Lady B.
I love this elegant backdrop - it's in neutral shades so doesn't distract from the photo subjects.
Bane is obviously ready to relax;
"Oh... were we going out tonight?"
"Shall we order in instead?"
Bane also now has the new slender EID hands, which go particularly well with the EID model body.
Here is much the same shot, with his former hairstyle and hands;
And I can't resist including this shot of Lady B in her new finery;
Based in New Zealand, I've been a collector of ball-jointed dolls since 2011.
