What a doll! I just love the Fairyland Feeple65 sculpt Angela, and have been having lots of fun photographing her since she returned from Angel Toast with her new face-ups. So far, I have been photographing mostly "night-time" Angelika, but I'll do more photos of "day-time" Angelika once summer rolls around and I feel like doing photos of my girls in pretty summer frocks and sassy bikinis. Angelika wows and sizzles in new gowns by MonaeGlow. She sure is a beauty... Here is another MonaeGlow gown in glorious indigo. She is wearing wonderful platform shoes from DollHeart. There is no way she can stand on these on her own, so she is supported by an "invisible" stand from Alice's Collections. Click here to be taken to the sales page for the stand _ Her pretty earrings and necklace are by LyanneNZ. Angelika was partnered by Griffin (Soom Ender on Iplehouse SID body). He is wearing clothing by Iplehouse. I posted these photos on the Zone of Zen forum and Griffin got a lot of very nice compliments. Well, he is a handsome boy!

When a Rexy in the pre-2014 peach gold resin recently came up for sale on the DenofAngels marketplace, I couldn't resist swooping in and buying her. I've always liked the Rexy sculpt, and I love the old peach gold resin colour, such a lovely warm honey gold.
I've assigned her in my character gallery to be Griffin's sister. She's wearing an EID-size wig which is a bit slippery on her head (needs a silicon cap) but which suits her admirably. Her beautiful vibrant cardigan is from Theworldofdolls Etsy store. She certainly is a cutie! I wanted to give my BJDs stylish new looks for Winter 2015. I'm torn between BoHo and classy looks - so why not do both? I started with Griffin, my Soom Ender/Iplehouse SID hybrid. I had this exact image in my mind as soon as he got his new blue eyes (actually, default Iplehouse acrylics, but they look marvellous in him). New eyes... I wanted his photo to look like something from a fashion magazine spread. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. The coat and sweater are by Iplehouse, and the pretty blue variegated scarf was knitted by me to complement his eyes. The little posy is ofvintage glass flower beads from the Czech Republic. I love Etsy!
This "photo-shopping" business (I actually use Paint.NET) is not easy to do with hair. I must see if I can find some tutorials to do it better/more easily. I took some photos of my favourite couple Griffin and Aria, for Valentine's Day.
I bought quite a few backdrops from ebay.com in the previous month, and this was my first chance to try out the beach backdrop. Griffin is wearing Can-Teen surf boards and bandana by my friend, DoA member HelenNZ, and Aria is wearing a beautiful one-piece swimsuit by DearElizabeth (Etsy shop DEWear). They sure are a cute couple! Aria reminds me of "Gidget", from the TV show. I love the chance to showcase Griffin's awesome tattoo - not painted by me - I'm not that good. It's a "temporary" tattoo. He was sprayed beforehand with Helmar art fixative, and the tattoo is protected by a few layers of Reeve's matt acrylic varnish. I have already damaged it slightly as it does get rubbed at the shoulder joint when moving his arms upwards. I'll just have to be more careful. What I have been doing for the past month... my very first body blushing exercise... using Griffin, a BJD hybrid with a Soom Ender head on an SID Iplehouse body. They are both normal skin, but Soom NS is a lot pinker. His head has been blushed to tone with the body by the artist who did his face-up. I bought him from a Den of Angels member who resides in Brazil, and he was customized there. Unfortunately I can't remember who did his face-up. |
