I got two more wigs from Amadiz Studio - these wigs are just gorgeous. This is "Milady" in copper, modeled by Iplehouse Doria; Doria is in the "glow" realskin resin and is wearing urethane eyes by EnchantedDoll Eyes. Her jewellery is by Lyanne. My new Iplehouse EID woman is Lahela, in glow peach gold resin. This is a lovely warm colour which photographs beautifully; Her wig is "Skyfall", which is a lovely silky blond with aqua streaks at the ends. Lahela aka "Lark" is also wearing urethane eyes by EnchantedDoll Eyes. Lark is wearing a silk crepe top made by me - I made a few of these over winter, to go with stretch jeans made by Lyanne.

Doll meet! A couple of friends came over, and of course some of their dolls came for a visit too! We always have lots of fun, and it's great to see their dolls. Wow! Check out the legs on Helen's new HID Lahela! Her beautiful Doria came too; Lahela and Doria's clothing is by Iplehouse. Their shoes are by Paul Zhangby (ebay).
Lyanne brought along her FID couple Arvid & Stella - she has painted their faces herself - what a talented lady! I made Stella's sweater - it's a little too small for FID woman and looks better on a 16 inch Ficon fashion doll (it's from a Barbie knitwear book), and Arvid's sweater is by Lyanne's mom I think. I finally got a face-up for Doria that I really, really like! Here's Doria with a fresh new look from face-up artist Angel Toast; and I just love her soft, gentle expression; And here is her previous look - also a face-up by Angel Toast, a very striking 'elvish' look; Not quite as intense with the eyebrows partly covered; She looked extraordinarily like my Fairyland Feeple65 Angela in this incarnation - here's Angela here; And here is Doria's first incarnation from Iplehouse, a combination of two of her 'basic' face-ups, which was lovely, but not quite as I had imagined it; Okay, I finally managed to photograph HID Doria's new toned arms today. Iplehouse re-sculpted HID woman's arms, and they are now slightly longer and the upper arms are nicely toned. They were most obliging about letting buyers of the first issue buy replacement arms for their dolls. I wish my tummy looked this toned! Doria's beautiful bikini is by DEWear. This essentially is a post to evaluate the fit of EID women's clothing on HID women. In actual fact, their feet are the same size, however medium bust HID woman's body is not the same shape as that of medium bust EID woman. HID woman is taller, not outrageously so, but enough that her upper torso is longer than that of EID woman, affecting the fit of upper clothing. Being of a more "athletic" build, HID woman has smaller breasts and a broader back than EID woman who has a more "lingerie" body with plump breasts and wide hips. The photo below shows the height difference between the two - well within natural human variation. The black sheath dress is from Iplehouse and the other outfit is custom clothing made by Lyanne for her EID Carina, shown her with my HID Doria. All photos are by Lyanne. Looking good, ladies! Now when the outfits are reversed - oh dear - observe how the fit of the top now looks all wrong on Doria - her broader back has made it hard to fasten it at the back, and it is also pulled too high under her breasts due to her height. The top needs more width at the back, and an adjustment to the overlap at the front to look properly fitted. EID pants on the other hand, fit perfectly, and even the length is fine. Interestingly, Carina also has a problem with the Iplehouse black sheath although it is supposed to fit her - it's too low at the front resulting in multiple "wardrobe malfunctions" even while standing upright. It actually fits Doria better. The scooped neckline is sexy, but still discrete, and the black sheath emphasises her slimness. She doesn't fare as well with the EID top; just not a good look... I hope this post is useful for those contemplating getting an HID lady! Doria's turn to show off her assets! Styling and photos by Lyanne. Photos published by permission. What lies beneath... thanks, Louie!
I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas. Enjoy the festivities, and see you in the New Year! Laetitia and Doria are ready to party... Gotta love those long HID woman's legs!
Well, here's how the red dress looked on my new HID Doria... she is a little more slender than an EID woman but it still fits okay. She is taller, with lovely long legs like a supermodel. The knit fabric is easier to handle using the special walking foot, but I think I'll still need lots of practice before I feel comfortable sewing knits! I didn't redo the stitching of the top... hence the rather clumsy stitiching here. Well, it was far from summery - completely the opposite in fact, being August this year. I can't remember a winter and spring when we had so much rain! Thank goodness we've finally reverted back to normal Auckland spring weather in November - rain, shine, rain, shine - all in the one day mind you. My new peach gold Raffine got to model this fabulous new ensemble from Iplehouse; Lady B. (Carina) also got a new outfit; And Doria and Crow got in on the act as well; Well, I did feel a little more summery myself, after that photoshoot! for Iplehouse Doria... I got a custom Iplehouse face-up for her, but I wasn't happy with how it turned out... her brows and lashes were too dark, and I didn't like the freckles. I guess it's a language thing... her face-up is actually a blend of her two current basic face-ups. Anyway, I sent her off to Angel Toast for another face-up, but since I wasn't really sure by now what I wanted, I gave carte blanche to the face-up artist. When Doria came back, I wasn't sure whether I liked her or not... it's the eyebrows... but I think she is growing on me! She is on an SID body, but I think I might swap her on to an EID body. Her playsuit is based on BurdaStyle pattern #119. |
