Lyanne had some fun with my Feeple65 Chloe - these are actually two different face-plates. Shown below is "Dreaming Chloe, who has had her down-cast eyes opened up a bit and been given a pretty face-up by BJD face-up artist Nomyens (Thailand). I would never have thought of putting a pink wig on a doll, but it looks perfect on Chloe! (I now have a couple of pink wigs for my dolls too). This one is "J-rock" in sugar pink by Monique Wigs. Sadly this colour is no longer made, but we can enjoy it on Chloe here. This Chloe is actually a sleeping Chloe who has had her eyes opened up and her elf ears modified to become human. (Dreaming Chloe has human ears too). Photos, doll clothing and posing by Lyanne (LyanneNZ on Flickr - do check out her wonderful photos!

Saffron (Fairyland Elf Chloe) takes a nostalgic trip back to the Seventies in BurdaStyle maxidress style #103: It falls in a beautiful bell around her feet, and features trumpet-shaped sleeves. Saffron's wig is "Cara" in golden brown, by Monique Wigs. Ah, my poor neglected blog... actually I was waiting to post this entry until I had made a macrame belt for Boho #4, but I have to learn to make macrame knots first, and that could take a while... I just love Boho chic... it speaks to me of Summer and leisure-time; carefree and casual but still stylish and feminine. Boho #1 As seen previously, being worn by beautiful Aria. I just love her new "do" by Amadiz Studio. Lace blouse is BurdaStyle pattern #116, and her "painted" skirt is a gift from my friend Lyanne. Boho #2 Lady "B" (Beatrice) - Iplehouse Carina - is as elegant as always in a tie-front tunic top in a stunning poppy-flowered fabric, given to me by my neighbour. She is accompanied by Commander Bane (Benedict). Pattern is Lekala #5196. Boho #3 Topaz (also known as "Rose"), fresh from getting a wonderful fresh, dewy face-up by Vitta-Vera, in a lace top and rose necklace by SisenDesigns, and trousers in a floral cotton print. Her wig is by Amadiz Studio. Isn't wonderful? I love the red-gold colour, which is very difficult to find. The style is reminiscent of portraits of nymphs by Botticelli. I guess that is why it is called "Golden Renaissance"! Boho #4 "Saffron" (Elf Chloe) arrives! I made her a retro dress (BurdaStyle pattern #V11). She has a wonderful face-up, by "Pretty". I don't know anything about the face-up artist, except that I think they are based in Europe. Boho #5: Bell-sleeved tunic, modelled by Lady B. The pattern is Leko #4270, from the Bootstrapfashion.com site. So... I have actually been doing stuff... just not posting about it.... A while ago I sent off two Fairyland 2010 Event face-plates off to get new face-ups. First one back home was the one I sent to Nomyens in Thailand (see post below), and a week ago I got Chloe back from Angel Toast in the USA. Both have had their eyes opened up a little more. Whew! She's a scorcher! So I now have; Dreaming Chloe (no eye mod) with face-up by Deadly Nightshade; (seen here with Iplehouse Victor); Sleeping Chloe with modded ears & eyes, with face-up by Deadly Nightshade; Dreaming Chloe with eye opening and face-up by Nomyens; And now;
Dreaming Chloe with eye opening and face-up by Angel Toast. I think I can stop collecting Chloes now.... One of my two extra Dreaming Chloe face-plates came back from Nomyens with her new face-up. I intended that she look a little bit flirty, and I can safely say that Chloe is all that... and maybe a little bit more? Her earrings are by LyanneNZ. She is wearing a pretty BoHo lace dress from Iplehouse. Again, she has a little help to support her posing with the "invisible" stand from Alice Collections. I visited my friend Lyanne, and we played around photographing my Dreaming Chloe in (yet another) new gown from MonaeGlow.
It is now Spring (at last!) in Auckland and Chloe looked the very epitome of the spirit of Spring in her new gown so that got me thinking about creating a themed photo along those lines. I decided to depict her as Persephone, and added Iplehouse Victor as Hades, abandoned by his beloved wife for six months of every year as she returns to the earth at the beginning of Spring. I photographed them separately (for reasons of space) against a black velvet background, and then had a little play in Photoshop Elements to add some effects. I was quite pleased with the results. Victor looks appropriately sorrowful... I enjoyed photographing Chloe so much I went on to photograph her some more, and added in Iplehouse Victor as a companion.
Thus is another character born - Angelus - and a new photographic series along the currently popular urban fantasy theme. Chloe's rose-themed outfit by MonaeGlow is perfectly complemented by a rose necklace by SisenDesigns and the backdrop with brilliantly lit towers and roses. I pinched Crow's new 'super-hero' body for Victor for this shoot. I was so charmed by Dreaming Chloe that I immediately bought two more face-plates. This one has a face-up by Deadly Nightshade... it has a beautiful delicacy about it.
I am keeping this face-plate as it is, and the other two have been sent off for renewal - one to Nomyens in Thailand, and one to Angel Toast in the USA. Nomyens has a delicate style similar to that of Deadly Nightshade. The plate sent to her will have its eyes opened to a fully open, but still slightly sultry almond shape. The plate sent to Angel Toast will also have its eyes opened up, but not so much. Plus it will also have a colourful eye make-up for a sultry evening look. In the meantime, I've been having a wonderful time photographing the plate by Deadly Nightshade. For her Flickr debut I made her an organza blouse and pleather hot pants; I'd just received a new red dress from Etsy shop PamSDminiClothing, but the intended recipent - Angelika - had gone off for a new face-up. What to do? I decided to try it out on Chloe. My goodness, what a transformation! Still sweet and serene, but now with an unexpected supercharged sexiness; I heightened the contrast on the photos - they were actually taken inside at noon, using a backdrop - to simulate the harsh lighting of night-time artificial lighting. I wanted a "fashion shoot" feel to the photos. The night-time backdrop really makes the red dress "pop". Chloe was very obliging and didn't even mind posing unsupported... I was so taken with Chloe after these photos were shot, that I bought two more dreaming Chloe face-plates! And her very own body.
This will be perfect for photographing Chloe and Angelika together, or doing "day" and "night' photos with them. But that's a story for another day... |
