I was going to sell this gown... so I thought I'd take some nice photos of it - now I don't want to sell it! The lovely model is my lplehouse Aria, in light brown resin. She is a couple of years old, and the current light brown is darker - very close to RacconDoll dark mocha (conveniently!). Her oh-so-beautiful wig is "Aphrodite", by Amadiz Studio, and her earrings are by me. Oddly enough, the top skirts of this gown are photographing as a lemon colour - which I thought is was from the promotional photos. However, they are actually a creme brulee, which is more apparent in this photo. The model here is my Feeple65 Angela. For some reason, it is easier to get the SID-size MonaeGlow gowns on Angela than on an SID (very tight squeeze - good thing they don't have to breathe!).

Well, Iplehouse Aria with her sweet face, anyway... I tried out a blond Amadiz Studio on her and it looks great! This is a custom wig which I had made for Iplehouse Doria. It is available to purchase from Amadiz Studio - I think it is called "Innocence". Very appropriate! Aria's outfit and earrings were made by me. Aria is in light brown resin. Iplehouse are now making this resin colour much darker, which is unfortunate if one wants to one spare hands and feet.
Yes, another Raffine! I've wanted to get an Iplehouse girl in the new 'glow' peach gold resin ever since Iplehouse brought it out. It is very like the original peach gold, which was a French resin. This was introduced in 2013, but Iplehouse found it difficult to source the resin, so they swapped resins in 2014. The difference was very apparent, particularly for the peach gold and special realskin (light tan) resin colours. Recently, Iplehouse introduced 'glow' resin, that is, a French resin version of their standard resin. I have wanted to buy another girl in the peach gold colour ever since. My first Iplehouse girl was Aria, back in 2013, and I purchased her in the original peach gold resin. Dear Aria has faded, especially her face, but her resin colour is still a delightful colour, resembling a very light golden tan. She really is very cute. I have a Rexy in the original peach gold resin too, she has not faded so much, just a tad... An older picture of Aria - my photo-taking skills have definitely improved since then! But it does serve to show how Aria has faded. She's still beautiful though :) And here is Jeanne (Raffine), brand new, in the new glow Peach Gold resin; She photographs so beautifully! I just love this resin colour! It really does glow from within. To finish off, here is Mari, in the 'standard' peach gold resin; it photographs very nicely as well, but all in all, I do prefer the 'glow' version - it has a slight transparency which gives it more life - this is much more apparent in 'real life' than when looking at photographs, but hopefully I've managed to capture some of the difference. Leilani's fabulous new "do" is called "Hot Chocolate", and is made from natural hand-dyed angora goat fibre. It's so soft! This wonderful wig has been created by AmadizStudio of St.Petersburg. Their wigs are available from Etsy, but they are opening their own website at the end of this month. AmadizStudio will be selling custom-made outfits as well - very exciting! Pretty Leilani is an Iplehouse Aria in light brown resin. She is an SID doll, but she is wearing nYID hands here. Her manicure is by me. Iplehouse have decided to change the colour of their light brown resin - it will be much darker from now on. This is a little disappointing as newly purchased optional hands and feet will not match. The colour difference is very noticeable. An easy-fit sheath dress this time... this is retro sheath dress #134 from BurdaStyle. I just went straight ahead and made it up without doing a trial fitting. Perfect fit!
Leilani (Iplehouse light brown Aria) has the medium bust SID body. The pattern size is Euro 36, reduced to 35% of original. Next time I make it, I'll see if I can line it instead of using facings (which actually look very nice). It's made of quilting cotton so is a very nice weight. I love the vee detail at the back. Ah, my poor neglected blog... actually I was waiting to post this entry until I had made a macrame belt for Boho #4, but I have to learn to make macrame knots first, and that could take a while... I just love Boho chic... it speaks to me of Summer and leisure-time; carefree and casual but still stylish and feminine. Boho #1 As seen previously, being worn by beautiful Aria. I just love her new "do" by Amadiz Studio. Lace blouse is BurdaStyle pattern #116, and her "painted" skirt is a gift from my friend Lyanne. Boho #2 Lady "B" (Beatrice) - Iplehouse Carina - is as elegant as always in a tie-front tunic top in a stunning poppy-flowered fabric, given to me by my neighbour. She is accompanied by Commander Bane (Benedict). Pattern is Lekala #5196. Boho #3 Topaz (also known as "Rose"), fresh from getting a wonderful fresh, dewy face-up by Vitta-Vera, in a lace top and rose necklace by SisenDesigns, and trousers in a floral cotton print. Her wig is by Amadiz Studio. Isn't wonderful? I love the red-gold colour, which is very difficult to find. The style is reminiscent of portraits of nymphs by Botticelli. I guess that is why it is called "Golden Renaissance"! Boho #4 "Saffron" (Elf Chloe) arrives! I made her a retro dress (BurdaStyle pattern #V11). She has a wonderful face-up, by "Pretty". I don't know anything about the face-up artist, except that I think they are based in Europe. Boho #5: Bell-sleeved tunic, modelled by Lady B. The pattern is Leko #4270, from the Bootstrapfashion.com site. So... I have actually been doing stuff... just not posting about it.... Aria got a new holiday outfit; BurdaStyle pattern #116, and a pretty skirt by LyanneNZ to got with it; You can only just see the 'invisible' stand from Alice's Collections in the lower photograph. Oops! Aria's wig is by AmadizStudios. Isn't it wonderful? I bought some pieces of ruffle fabric from Etsy, and when my pretty light brown Aria (Leilani) arrived, I created a sort of evening gown for her by pinning the fabric at the back. Well, I liked it so much, I quickly made it up into a dress, modelled by Laetitia. She is seen here with Karel (Iplehouse nYID boy Oscar). I made another dress toute suite for (peach gold) Aria... and a little top...
I took some photos of my favourite couple Griffin and Aria, for Valentine's Day.
I bought quite a few backdrops from ebay.com in the previous month, and this was my first chance to try out the beach backdrop. Griffin is wearing Can-Teen surf boards and bandana by my friend, DoA member HelenNZ, and Aria is wearing a beautiful one-piece swimsuit by DearElizabeth (Etsy shop DEWear). They sure are a cute couple! Aria reminds me of "Gidget", from the TV show. I love the chance to showcase Griffin's awesome tattoo - not painted by me - I'm not that good. It's a "temporary" tattoo. He was sprayed beforehand with Helmar art fixative, and the tattoo is protected by a few layers of Reeve's matt acrylic varnish. I have already damaged it slightly as it does get rubbed at the shoulder joint when moving his arms upwards. I'll just have to be more careful. |
