Angelika (Fairyland Feeple65 Angela) came back from Angel Toast, and Chloe departed. I had purchased another Feeple65 body, so was able to display both Angelika heads at the same time, which is wonderful. The 'new' body came from a smoking household, so I decided to take it apart to clean and re-string it. I felt quite a bit of trepidation about doing this, because the Feeple65 body has a lot of extra pieces which enable the arms to be removed without having to restring them, and the same is true for the calves. There is an 'event' arm for Chloe which has henna patterns carved into it. I do have one of these arms which I obtained second-hand, and which I intend to paint this summer. With regard to the calves, the smaller Fairyland sculpts often have alternate legs but this has never been the case for the Feeple65 size. So I decided to restring the body in a standard BJD fashion using one loop of tension string for the arms and one for the body and legs. I actually photographed all the steps in preparation for putting a tutorial upon this blog - but accidentally deleted the photos from the camera card. Oops. However, I want to tighten the tension strings at some point so I will retake the shots when I do that. In the meantime, here are Angelika's day and night versions; the face-ups are subtly different and one is intended for a "blonde" and the other for a "red-headed" look; Top photo is by Angel Toast. I enjoyed photographing Chloe so much I went on to photograph her some more, and added in Iplehouse Victor as a companion.
Thus is another character born - Angelus - and a new photographic series along the currently popular urban fantasy theme. Chloe's rose-themed outfit by MonaeGlow is perfectly complemented by a rose necklace by SisenDesigns and the backdrop with brilliantly lit towers and roses. I pinched Crow's new 'super-hero' body for Victor for this shoot. I was so charmed by Dreaming Chloe that I immediately bought two more face-plates. This one has a face-up by Deadly Nightshade... it has a beautiful delicacy about it.
I am keeping this face-plate as it is, and the other two have been sent off for renewal - one to Nomyens in Thailand, and one to Angel Toast in the USA. Nomyens has a delicate style similar to that of Deadly Nightshade. The plate sent to her will have its eyes opened to a fully open, but still slightly sultry almond shape. The plate sent to Angel Toast will also have its eyes opened up, but not so much. Plus it will also have a colourful eye make-up for a sultry evening look. In the meantime, I've been having a wonderful time photographing the plate by Deadly Nightshade. For her Flickr debut I made her an organza blouse and pleather hot pants; |
