Roses for a lady fair... I do believe she likes them! Iplehouse Bane's suit is by Soom, for Idealian male, and Lady B's (Iplehouse Carina) lovely outfit is by Lyanne.

Well, okay - one return - Bane, fresh from getting his new face-up from Angel Toast. But both I and Lady B are happy to see him! So now we know what Lady B was hiding behind her back a couple of posts ago... a diamond tiepin. I think Bane likes it... Lady B is an Iplehouse Carina, and her face-up is also by Angel Toast. Bane's suit is by Soom (limited edition, for Idealian man), his shirt and tiepin are by Freedom Teller and his tie is from an ebay seller. My Iplehouse EID man Bane returned recently from having a new face-up done for him by BJD artist Angel Toast. The face-up model was the character "Bard" from the third "Hobbit" movie, as he has a similarly lean face, and I loved his sideburns. So naturally, I had to try and style him similarly for his grand debut on Flickr! A friend asked me if I could make an Egyptian-style kilt in gold pleated fabric in Iplehouse FID men's size... well, I can but try... The result looks pretty good to me - my first attempt too! It is modelled by Iplehouse FID Leonard (light brown resin). The only stitching is at the back. The fabric is cut on the bias and curves trimmed at the front. This fabric is horrible to sew - stretches when machine-sewn and it's quite dense so not easy to hand-sew, but that's the best way to sew it. Fortunately it doesn't fray at all and has a nice neat edge when cut with a sharp pair of scissors. The kilt is overlapped and sewn in place with a few stitches, then a band tied around the waist and one end allowed to hang down at the front. Happy 2018 everyone!
I celebrated New Year's Eve with a friend, and we did a photo-shoot with my Iplehouse Raffine - the one with the body art painted by BJD face-up artist Vitta Vera. I'd made a thirties-style gown in pleated gold fabric for the celebrations, and I think she looks pretty wonderful! Her beautiful wig is "Marianne", by Amadiz Studio. I created a variant crochet top for Lady B (Iplehouse Carina) based on the apricot top I created for Iplehouse Raffine, but this top has elbow length sleeves and is buttoned up the front.
The sleeve ruffles are based on a doily situated on a table beside my armchair! I decorated my Christmas tree! If I don't manage to update my blog before Christmas... have a Happy Christmas, and see you in the New Year! December, and the weather is glorious! Sunshine, blue skies, light breezes... I forgive you, Auckland (well almost), for all that rain that you dumped on us for four long months in winter... Raffine wears a top crocheted by me, with pleated shorts in noil silk. Her feet are beautifully pedicured and decorated with "barefoot sandals" by BJD face-up artist "Vitta Vera". Hold on to your hat, Laetitia! Laetitia is a RaccoonDoll girl - an MSD size BJD of similar size to Iplehouse FID ladies. In fact, this is an Iplehouse outfit. Laetitia's face-up is by Vitta Vera. I've also swapped her hands for Iplehouse JID hands in realskin (non-glow). Laetitia's resin colour is called "sweet mocha". |
